Left photo: We took Melody to numerous ‘Hometown Jamboree Today’  concerts at various venues. Here she is “practicing” her dog trick backstage at Leisure World in San Diego.  Right photo: Although Leisure World’s stage was large and their seating capacity held over a thousand people, Melody never had stage fright. When Cliffie called Melody to come out on center stage, she fearlessly ran over to us, stopped, looked at the audience and then sat down. Cliffie commanded her to “sit up” several times, but she never obeyed - which made the audience laugh! Then I’d tell Melody to sit up, which she did, and there would be a collective “oh, isn’t that cute” murmur throughout the audience and they would clap. Her one-and-only dog trick always stole the audience’s heart.
